• Its first season started on 18 April 2008. Rajasthan Royals team was the champion that year.
• It is conducted every year. We call each year as seasons, for example, 1st in 2008, 2nd in 2009, 3rd in 2010, Fourth season in 2011. IPL Fifth (5th) seasons will be held in 2012.

• Winning Teams in Various Seasons of IPL : 1st – Rajasthan Royals, 2nd – Deccan, 3rd – Chennai Superkings, 4th – CSK i.e. Chennai Super kings again. 5th – unknown (in 2012).
• Two new teams – Pune Warriors India owned by Subrata Roy Sahara and Kochi Tuskers kerala owned by Kochi cricket pvt ltd were introduced lately in 2011 summing upto total of 10 teams in IPL.
• IPL has been the first sport event to be broadcast live on Youtube in association with IndiaTimes.
• It receives heavy sponsorship, advertising and other forms of revenues. Hence many people rightly remark it as Indian Paisa league
• International players of various teams of the world participate in it.
• IPL cricket is being viewed and watched all over the world internationally. Search trends show dramatic rise over key terms related to ipl during matches.

I’m eagerly waiting for ipl 2012 matches to be live so that I can enjoy it. I never miss watching it even when I am at work or on a tour owing to one reason or the other. Last year, I was on a trip to Australia for some work but I adjusted all my work schedule to conform to the schedule of ipl so that I could watch it either online on my laptop or on my mobile without missing a single strike or ball.

Then there comes the auction process, which players were sold for how much? – Sometimes I really laugh at this statement like Player A is sold for $$$$$$$. Success of IPL goes to millions of cricket fans in India. They contest, defend their favorite ipl team. They keep the craze rolling. Its like IPL fever for them during ipl season. Even online video websites which stream ipl live events set new records for peak usage and amazing bandwith consumption of their powerful servers. IPL T20 is a unique cricket tournament.
